Try the potter’s wheels
Come and try sitting at a potter’s wheel, feel the soft clay between your hands, and experience how you can shape it with gentle pressure.
Both children and adults can try their hand at the potter’s wheels at Keramikfestival
A portion of clay and 15 minutes at the potter’s wheel costs only DKK 50, and you will receive guidance from the volunteers to get started.
Sign up when you arrive at Keramikfestival if you want to be sure to get a spot
The workshop is organised by Michelle from raastof keramik.
The workshop is sponsored by SuperBrugsen Skælskør and Cerama.
Workshop – birds in clay
Together with Skælskør Art School, you can create Ephemeral Birds that sprout, or decorate fun Piv-i-røv whistles.
The ephemeral birds are made of clay and given wings, beaks, eyes and feathers from natural materials we have brought along. You can also add a seed mix to the bird, so that flowers later sprout where the bird has stood.
The birds are not fired, so they can be placed somewhere in the garden or in nature and will gradually wash away in the rain, and the flowers will sprout.
Piv-i-røv whistles made of clay are decorated with lovely colours and patterns. The whistles make a bird sound when you put water in them and blow.
Price: DKK 50 per workshop, payable at the workshop
The workshop is held in collaboration with Skælskør Art School, and the clay is sponsored by ClaySense.

This year’s ceramicists are Christine Urfe Bendt, Allan Hytholm and Bodil Sørensen.
This year’s six new stones will be presented at the Info Tent on 8 July.

Family fun at Svanetorv
Take a break with the children at Svanetorv—here you can play with beautiful ceramic games and hop in the lovely hopscotch grid created by Sofie Mygind. The sandbox is filled with toys, and the fountain trickles pleasantly.
It will also be possible to buy both food and ice cream.
Ceramic games
Need a break? Then find one of the many cosy ceramic games located around town. Tic-tac-toe in several different formats and sizes, beautiful hopscotch stones in artfully crafted hopscotch grids, and the classic Connect Four.
The games are produced by Cecilie Dige and Finn Møller with funding from LAG Slagelse
Ride the vintage shuttle bus
Once again this year, vintage shuttle buses will connect the many activities of Keramikfestival, and throughout the day the buses will run a regular service to the car park at Skælskør Hall.
The buses are from Denmark’s Bus Museum.
Shuttle services at Keramikfestival are sponsored by Skælskør Business Association.
